What Should We REALLY Eat???

One very important question – what should we eat, I mean REALLY eat? We want to be healthy, we want to maintain well supported body functions and keep ourselves fit and vital. There is just too much information out there, which is not helping us to find an answer to this.

Should we eat more Protein? Should we eat less Carbohydrates? Should we become Vegetarians? Should we become Vegans or even Raw Vegans, just to be able to help our bodies and our skin to get the best glow that is possible? Should we become part time Yoginis to keept ourselves fit, having the rest of our leisure time scheduled tightly between gym and social life?

There are answers to this. And they are amazingly simple. Here are five brief tips:

FIRST: Eat real food. We don’t want our bodies to be a grave yard for artificial stuff that our system is not able to process (and all of this will be stored in our fat cells). That’s why we stay away from processed food and all artificial ingredients, such as sweeteners, which are in too many products anyway. And be aware that even chewing gum has artificial sweeteners.

But it is not only artificial ingredients that we want to ban from our bodies through eating real food. Our hormones (some of them) get influenced by artificial ingredients as well, and so is our blood sugar level (insulin). Both are an important factor in gaining or loosing weight.

I want to give you just a very brief overview, but keep in mind that there are numerous ESSENTIAL reasons to stay away from unnatural food, from processed food (AND from food that increases your blood sugar level too much).

SECOND: Drink loads of water. You know that you should drink at least 2 Liters of water every day, don’t you? Have also green tea and other herbal teas. But stay away from fruit tea and black tea.

THIRD: Eat on a regular base. Keep your metabolic fire burning with a regular intake of food. Don’t have too big portions.

FOURTH: Protein is your friend. Did you know that you can suffer from lack of energy if you don’t have enough protein provided? Also it is important to another hormone to keep you active and happy.

FIFTH: Everything extreme is meant for only a period. Fasting is good for you, sure. Raw Vegan is good for you too. And banning carbohydrates can be fantastic. BUT ALL JUST AS A CURE. Do those things for a day, or for up to 2 weeks. But stay away from doing this forever. Same to Ayurveda and everything. They are all meant to bring you and your body back to balance, back to fitness. But not to make you a fanatical!
